German in 6 months: your honest plan

Put in your start date and how much time you really have. You get real dates, a 26-week calendar and a weekly checklist. No login. Nothing is sent to us.

First, the honest part. Nobody goes from zero to C2 in six months. The free Integrationskurs uses 600 hours of class to take a beginner to B1 (300 hours base course, 300 hours advanced course), plus 100 hours of orientation course.

So the question is not "which level in 6 months?" It is "how many hours can I really give?" The calculator below shows you exactly that.

Hinglish: 6 mahine me C2 koi nahi pahunchta. Asli sawaal ye hai ki aap roz kitna time de sakte ho.

1. Your plan

From to you will study about

0

hours in total.

The bar goes to 600 hours (Integrationskurs, beginner to B1). The line in the middle is 300 hours (base course).

2. Your 26 weeks

Each square is one week. Tap a week to open its checklist. The colour shows the month. Weeks you finish get a white ring.

    3. What each month is for

This is a plan for learning, not a promise of a level. The pace comes from your hours: about 200 hours per level, like in the Integrationskurs (600 hours for A1, A2 and B1). Go on only when the last step really feels easy.

    5. "Samajh nahi aaya" — how to break down one sentence

When a sentence is hard, do not translate word by word. Ask three things: who does it, what is the verb, and why is the word order like this?

    Ich möchte einen Termin vereinbaren.
    English
I would like to arrange an appointment.
    Punjabi
    ਮੈਂ ਮੁਲਾਕਾਤ ਲਈ ਸਮਾਂ ਤੈਅ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ/ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀ ਹਾਂ।
    Roman
Main mulaakaat layi samaa tai karna chaunda/chaundi haan.

möchte makes it polite ("would like"). Termin is masculine (der Termin). It is the thing you want, so der becomes einen. vereinbaren (to arrange) goes to the very end — with möchte, the second verb always waits at the end.

Same pattern, other verbs: einen Termin verschieben (move it) · einen Termin absagen (cancel it).

    6. Three rules that decide if you make it

Every day beats a lot. 20 minutes daily does more than 3 hours on Sunday. Your brain keeps what it meets again and again.

On a bad day, do 5 minutes. Repeat 10 old words. That keeps the habit alive. Missing one day is fine. Missing the habit is the problem.

Speak from week one. Say every new sentence out loud. At work, at the bakery, on the phone. Mistakes are part of it — Germans understand much more than you think.

What this page can and cannot do

It can: give you real dates, count your real hours, show a weekly plan, and remember your ticks on this phone.

It cannot: test your level, give you a certificate, or check your speaking. For a certificate you need an exam (for example Goethe, telc or the DTZ at the end of the Integrationskurs). Your ticks are saved only in this browser — if you clear the browser data, they are gone.

Hours for the Integrationskurs: BAMF, as of September 2026. General information only.
